OUR Implimentation




We stuck 12" directional decals on the floor by the exit of the 86th Street and Lexington Ave. Subway Station. People found it helpful!


If it is so easy to implement such a simple system, why hasn't the city done so?

Sign our petition so that we can get improve NYC!

People look down going up the steps from the subway. Maybe putting the "stickers" on the steps leading outside would help....but then that stops traffic too...Try laying them out in perspective so that coming out of the subway you see it as a whole and walking away from it it becomes distorted. Go on google images for examples. Hope this helps

The Grand Central Partnership did this last fall in partnership with the DOT and the MTA I think. You can read about that here: http://www.grandcentralpartnership.org/what_we_do/2007_survey.asp

It was really successful so the DOT held a design competition for compass decals to be installed throughout the city. I think the winners are being announced tomorrow night as an exhibition showing the winning designs opens at the Center for Architecture:
